Field visits planned in Lockyer Valley, Moreton Bay, Southern Downs and Far North Queensland

The Labour hire licensing compliance unit (LHLCU) is planning field operations in Lockyer Valley, Moreton Bay, Southern Downs and Far North Queensland (FNQ) in the 2025-26 financial year. If you are a labour hire user in these areas, you can prepare for these visits by:

  • Checking the online register to ensure your labour hire provider is licensed. Important—you cannot use a provider who has applied for a licence but not yet been approved—pending applications are shown on the pending applications list. You must wait until the licence is granted and in force.
  • Verifying contact details by cross-checking that the contact details you have been given match the contact details on the register. If the contact person for your provider is not one of the people listed on the register you should check their authority to act on behalf of the provider by contacting a person listed on the register.
  • If you know your provider is using a subcontractor, check the online register and ensure the subcontractor is licensed.
  • Ensuring there are no undisclosed subcontractors by conducting a check of your provider and any subcontractor to verify time and wages of workers and ensure records are accurately maintained.
  • Conducting a check-in with workers supplied by providers and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining a list of all workers on your site (it is important to always know who is at your workplace).

Contact us on 1300 576 088 if you are concerned or have any doubts about the identity of the provider you are dealing with. For more information and guidance, you can also visit Labour Hire Licensing Queensland.
